Paintings based on momentary experiences

Hilde Grønstad Sunde says: "My works have come out of a moment's experiences or wonder about something that has been jotted down as a quick sketch, a kind of note that I can then work on in the studio." Hilde Sunde is really concerned with the short moments when nature speaks to us, e.g. When the light and the storm meet. With simple but effective means, she stimulates the poetic in us. For Hilde Grønstad Sunde is a figurative poet herself and she dares and masters this in a large format. We see it e.g. in the paintings "Ice Dance" 140x150cm or in "Stormy Night" 135x180cm.
She says "the absence of photographic documentation has made it easier for me to get to the core of what really is, without being disturbed by unnecessary details. I have analyzed and assessed how I could best get the image where I wanted, and it has been a long process. The colors, the shapes, everything has helped to underpin what I wanted to convey".
The exhibition is shown in both rooms of the gallery. It will be a walk in Hilde Grønstad Sunde's artistic landscape from the dark to the light, from the forest floor to open winter landscapes, from stormy weather to warm moods. For her, the landscape carries all human moods, and she consciously uses the landscape in her communication with that in mind.
The exhibition includes 20 paintings in oil on Belgian primed linen canvas no. 166. Mounted on blind frames of the best quality (Riise) made by the artist himself. The sizes vary from 30x30 to 135x180cm. All the paintings are from the last two years and have not been shown before.
