Collection: Geir Brohjem

Geir Brohjem ( 1970) was born in Ottestad and is a landscape painter living in Hamar. Brohjem is educated at the Oslo School of Drawing and Painting, and has a bachelor's degree in Fine Art from the University of Central England. Member of Norwegian Visual Artists (NBK) and Visual Artists Inlandet.

According to definitions in the dictionary, insight is the ability to see a matter from all sides; with a prudent, tolerant attitude. More than anything else, it is broad-mindedness, and an image standpoint that somehow surprises, that we find in Hamar artist Geir Brohjem's paintings. He himself says that it is the openness and broad-mindedness of the Hedmarks landscape that he is looking for. He likes the experience of the great, the untouched. This means that he has to work with the material.

He says that it's about not letting yourself be stopped by what you can't do, and he continues to explore painting as a medium. In the past, he has visited the iconography and the abstracted landscape, but today he allows the landscape painting to become his way of communicating with the public.
