Collection: Giske Sigmundstad

Giske Sigmundstad, born in 1965, is a Norwegian visual artist who was educated at the Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole in Oslo and Fortman Studio in Florence. She has had several individual exhibitions and participated in international graphics exhibitions in countries such as the USA, Germany and Belgium. Sigmundstad is known for his distinctive and stage-like images, where women often carry their belongings in suitcases and are portrayed wearing long coats or dresses from the 50s. She has received several awards, including the Arches Prize and Le Grand Prix de la Biennale in Canada, and has been purchased by the National Gallery several times.
