Collection: June Sira

June Sira's (1965) paintings and graphics join something that has gradually gained more attention, the neo-figurative painting. Sira's simple but perfect and beautiful human figures, often placed within a landscape motif, represent an interesting contribution.

June Sira lives and works in Oslo. She has her education from the Chelsea School of Art and Design 1999 - 2000, MA Fine Art and the Norwegian College of Crafts and Arts, Department of Color - Major sculpture 1985-1992.

Sira is one of today's figurative painters who has been associated with Galleri EKG since her exhibition in 2012, and was a festival exhibitor in 2015.

She has had solo exhibitions among others at Gallery Osebro and Gallery Norske Grafikere. Of a large number of collective exhibitions, Bø Kunstforening 2006, Galleria Ateneum, Warsawa 2005, Østlandsutstillingen 1996, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004 and UBS Award 2000, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London 2000 can be mentioned.

She has been purchased by the Ministry of Culture 2005, Helsebygg Midt Norge 2005, Union Bank of Switzerland - UBS, 2000 and more.

The artist has received several awards and grants, including the UBS Art Award, National winner, UK 2000, the Arches prize - graphics at the Statens Høstutstilling 1995, Ingrid Lindback Langaard's fund 2001 and a one-year work grant 1999.
