Collection: Kristian Finborud

Kristian Finborud (b. 1964) is educated at the Skien School of Drawing and Painting and the Norwegian Academy of Arts and Design. He works as a graphic artist and is a member of Norske Grafikere.

Finborud works with etchings and is best known for his humorous motifs, caricatures of the Norwegian folk spirit, as well as landscape depictions. The motifs emerge through a characteristic sketch-like line, which, together with a clear composition and almost abstract depictions of nature, create the idiom he is known for.

Finborud has had a number of exhibitions, among other things he has participated a number of times at the Autumn Exhibition, had solo exhibitions at Aalesund Art Association, Gallery Bi-Z and Gallery Havstad, as well as group exhibitions at Norske Grafikere and in Bulgaria. He has been bought in by, among others, the Norwegian Culture Council and Porsgrunn Municipality. Finborud has had two solo exhibitions in Galleri EKG.
