Lars Elling

Lars Elling is a renowned Norwegian artist, born in Oslo in 1966. He is educated at the Bergen Academy of the Arts and made his debut as a painter in 1997. Elling has also worked as a newspaper cartoonist and book illustrator, and has published several award-winning picture books. From 2003 he has devoted himself fully to painting, and his characteristic egg oil tempera paintings have been shown at exhibitions both in Norway and internationally. His pictures are known for combining photographic and cinematic elements, and creating dramatic one-acts with many different threads in the plot.
