Collection: Line Schjølberg

Line Schjølberg is an artist who was born in Oslo in 1965. She has an artistic education from the Interdisciplinary Art Institute, and has taken several further education courses at the Oslo Academy of Arts. Schjølberg paints pictures in an almost figurative and poetic style. She uses motifs that are often idyllic situations with seemingly innocent and harmless scenes, for example children playing in the forest or garden. But the images also have a dreamlike quality with small hints of something unexplained, which invite the audience to try to find out more about what is really going on behind the facade. Schjølberg has participated in a number of exhibitions since 2001 and has received a grant from the Visual Artists Remuneration Fund. The artist has also carried out decoration assignments and is a recognized artist in Norway.
